Coal takes a fun detour through a gemstone. Earth and Fire give Lava, Lava cooled with Water becomes Stone, and Lava poured onto Stone sets as Obsidian. Earth presses the Obsidian into a Diamond, and burning that Diamond gives Coal, a neat reversal of the usual coal-to-diamond story.
